October 9, 2019: Tech Entrepreneur Workshop Series, Columbia, Mo.
Got a great technology-based idea and want to turn it into a business? Or a new idea for an existing business? The Missouri Small Business Development Center at the University of Missouri Columbia is hosting the Tech-Entrepreneur Workshop Series, a four- week course that’ll help you transform your ideas into a viable business through a simple, powerful, proven system. Throughout the workshop series, participants will work with business and entrepreneurship experts to learn about developing a business model canvas and federal loan and grant opportunities, all with one-on-one feedback, with so much more in store.
October 16, 2019: Smart Start: Developing a Successful Business, West Plains, Mo.
Do you dream of starting your own business but don’t know where to begin? How do you validate your startup idea before you quit your day job? What chance does your idea have of being profitable?
It’s easy to be overwhelmed in the early stages of launching a company. Learn the first steps to starting your own business and how to pave the way to success. Business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to join this workshop to learn how to find data to help start or grow a business and to understand a region’s business landscape. This workshop is sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at Missouri University of Science and Technology, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Census Bureau and Columbia College.
Attendees will learn how to locate detailed information, including income, poverty level and/or populations in an area. They will also learn how to access information about potential customers and similar businesses for those starting, planning or expanding a business
October 30, 2019: Startup Missouri Expo, Chesterfield, Mo.
Startup Missouri Expo is an annual trade show designed to connect small business owners, serial entrepreneurs and young startups with resources to help them develop, manage, maintain and improve their businesses. This expo will focus on our state’s exciting and burgeoning startup community and innovative entrepreneurs who are changing the face of Missouri’s economy.
