Saint Louis University Innovation Mentoring Team

Saint Louis University Innovation Mentoring Team provides free help to founders or early-stage startups. We are an affiliate of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service and use their system of team mentoring. We support startups in all business sectors, including nonprofits.

Saint Louis University's Innovation Mentoring Team (SLU IMT) is an MIT-created program that provides no-cost educational support for entrepreneurs through team-based mentoring. There are now more than 100 of these MIT-based programs around the world. Following the guidelines of the MIT program, all mentoring by SLU IMT is done on a strictly pro bono basis.

SLU IMT mentors are highly experienced volunteers with backgrounds in accounting, finance, IP law, distribution, marketing, sales, and other business areas. SLU IMT mentors can have no operational or financial interest in the ventures they mentor.

The purpose of this kind of mentoring is to help startups commercialize and grow. We focus on what the founders needs to do next to ensure that the startup has enough runway to stay in business. We emphasize focus (thoughtful time management) and sales (careful capital management).
