Academy of Science – St. Louis

The Academy of Science – St. Louis seeks to advance the public understanding of science and promote interest in the sciences to students and adults through accessible, year-round seminars and educational initiatives. The Academy of Science-St. Louis was formed in by visionaries and entrepreneurs in the areas of science and engineering 1856 to promote the understanding and appreciation of science.

The Academy of Science partners with entrepreneurial organizations to promote science and technology entrepreneurship. Examples include Science Frontiers Seminars with the Skandalaris Center (Washington University) and Innovate St. Louis; biotech seminars with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville; patent workshops with Webster University; and partnerships with community organizations and schools on outreach to the next generation of entrepreneurs. The Academy also recognizes Innovation via an annual Outstanding St Louis Scientist Awards Dinner and through scholarships and recognition of authentic science research by high school students participating in the Academy’s Honors Science Fair.
