InSITE Washington University

InSITE is a graduate student fellowship that works with early, Series A startups on consulting engagements during the semester. Each semester, InSITE receives hundreds of applicants for startup projects around the nation. With careful due diligence, the InSITE community selects those projects it sees as most promising and viable.

About

InSITE was founded in 1999 with a mission to create a community of passionate leaders who share common values and have the desire, ability and network to support innovative companies and projects. InSITE fellows at seven chapters across the nation engage in semester-long consulting projects for emerging companies, in addition to chapter-specific curriculum and networking events.

Companies span a range of industries, and project scopes vary according to the individual company’s most pressing need. In the past, fellows have worked on projects centered around the formation of pitch materials, marketing and brand development, product development, consumer research and pricing strategy.

In their first year of the program, fellows are required to join consulting-style teams, which work with InSITE-selected startups on crucial problems. Companies span a range of industries, including:

  • Software and hardware
  • Health care and life sciences
  • Cleantech
  • Enterprise services
  • Education
  • Consumer goods
  • Data and analytics
  • Entertainment and media
  • Social ventures
  • Financial services
