About
CoMo Cooks gives all cooks a chance to turn their recipes into a business reality, regardless of background, income or status. The goal is to increase entrepreneurial success by providing accessible, inclusive and affordable kitchen space for starting and expanding local food-based businesses. Additional support provided by REDI and The Loop CID in the form of business coaching, shared branding, popups and other promotions will help local food entrepreneurs succeed.
The kitchen offers tiered memberships starting at 10 hours a month with hourly fees starting at $15/hour.
What our kitchen offers:
- Health department-certified spaces
- Flexible rental hours + 24 hour scheduling
- Affordable rates and tiered membership levels
- Dry/cold/freezer storage available
- Shared workspace and meeting rooms
- Plus, access to a wide variety of commercial-grade kitchen equipment.
All users will be required to have the following:
- Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Business registration
- Seller’s permit/sales tax license
- Permit to operate from the City/County Public Health Department
- Any required food handlers permits or certifications
- Liability Insurance and COI covering the kitchen ($1 million minimum)
- Worker’s Compensation Insurance (if additional employees)
- Onboarding class and signed agreement recognizing the kitchen rules
- Deposit ($200-300 with option of a sliding scale)
