Community Innovation and Action Center

The Community Innovation and Action Center at University of Missouri – St. Louis conducts applied research, builds skills and coordinates partners to build whole communities.

About

The University of Missouri – St. Louis Community Innovation and Action Center envisions a region that creates whole communities for all.

Communities where residents reach their full potential to live happy and healthy lives. Communities where neighbors build meaningful connections and where all are engaged in decision making. Communities that promote equity, enjoy quality housing and economic opportunity, benefit from effective education, invest in sustainable energy and efficient transportation, and feature vibrant public spaces.

With partners from across the St Louis region and beyond, the center is making its vision a reality through four core strategies:

  • building powerful leaders
  • fostering effective nonprofits and governments
  • supporting strong community partnerships
  • developing shared infrastructure and public policy.

The Community Innovation and Action Center has a research agenda in each of these areas, building skills and coordinating community partners to facilitate community action and learning.
