The Office of Technology Commercialization at UMKC helps UMKC researchers share their discoveries with the world.

About

Eric Anderson is the director of the Office of Technology Commercialization, which is the technology transfer office (TTO) for the University of Missouri – Kansas City.  The other staff member is Melanie Roberts and she is a Business Operations Associate Senior.  With these two FTE the TTO receives in approximately 30 disclosures each year from a variety of the departments throughout the university.  Disclosure of inventions are from the School of Computing and Engineering, pharmacy, medicine, nursing, dental, chemistry and other schools.   The TTO reviews and works to receive General Counsel approval on non-disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, data use agreements, collaboration and inter-institutional agreements, as well as options and licenses. Technology evaluations are offered in addition to prior art searching and analysis.  The TTO provides marketing of the technologies and works with the UMKC Innovation Center to provide industry contact.
