About

The mission of the St. Louis Arch Angels is to provide opportunities for our members to obtain outstanding financial returns by investing in early-stage companies with high growth potential in the St. Louis Region and accelerating them to market leadership.

The Arch Angels are a part of the region’s seed to later stage equity capital continuum and are targeting an investment range that is generally underserved by institutional venture capital firms. The Arch Angel network is an important addition to the region’s capacity to finance innovation emerging from our universities and research institutes, companies, and technology incubators.

Angels typically invest between $25,000 and $100,000 per transaction individually, and from $250,000 to $750,000 as a group. They invest in one to four transactions per year. On average, angels are patient, with an average term for holding an investment of eight years. For the risk and added value they provide, angels seek returns of at least ten times their investment.

We receive many business plan submissions each month. Our funding process involves a thorough screening process where approximately two companies per month are selected to present to our members for funding consideration.

What we’re looking for
We evaluate based on management team, market opportunity, growth potential, as well as other factors. To stand out from the rest of the crowd, make sure that you meet our investment criteria and that you are fully prepared with a polished business plan and presentation.

Arch Angel members provide seed and early-stage capital in the range of $250K-$1M, an investment range not generally served by venture capitalists.

Our members are business leaders from the St. Louis region. They mentor and coach, serve on boards, provide contacts, and assist with team building, strategic planning and fundraising.

The St. Louis Arch Angels is organized as a 501c(6) corporation. It is governed by a board of directors that includes a chairman, president, treasurer, and secretary. Members do not invest in a pooled fund, but rather commit to invest a minimum of $50,000 a year directly in a startup in partnership with other members of the network. Members generally invest under the same terms and conditions. The Network’s activities are guided by its bylaws and rules of membership.
