This workshop is intended to help small business owners navigate the complexities of qualifying for and bidding on federal government contract opportunities. You will learn how to obtain certifications that qualify you to get small business set-asides for certain businesses such as women-owned; veteran-owned; and small disadvantaged businesses.

Small Business Administration (SBA) Contracting Assistance Programs.
How to register their business with the federal government.
How to search for contract opportunities in their business area.
Key government roles in the contracting process.
The high-level contracting process.
Where to find help.
Presenter Biography

David Vail retired from the US Air Force after 26 years of service. He went back to school completing an Executive MBA program while operating his own business building customized computer accounting systems for small businesses. He also consulted with large international corporations such as 3M, Air Canada, and Monsanto before it was acquired by Bayer AG. He returned to the Department of Defense as a civilian where for 14 years, he managed IT projects and contracts supporting military operations.

David retired a second time in 2016, and is currently actively involved in 3 non-profit organizations.
