Dan is the founder and principal analyst at Lean Manufacturing Research, LLC, a member of The Analyst Syndicate. In this role he advises software and systems providers that serve the manufacturing sector on product development and marketing strategy. He works with end-user companies on setting digital transformation strategies and technology architecture decisions. He is also a mentor for the St. Louis IT Entrepreneurs Network and for The Hatchery at the Olin School of Business at Washington University.
His background includes 15 years as a manufacturing engineer in the forest products and chemicals industries, 10 years as a product strategy and marketing professional in the industrial software sector and 25 years as a market research analyst. He has advised companies on product and marketing strategy ranging in size from three-person startups to multibillion dollar industry leaders. He was an adjunct faculty member at Central Washington University for 15 years, is the author of a textbook on industrial networking, and has served on curriculum and faculty advisory committees for several higher education institutions. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a MS in Management from the University of Southern California and is a certified Lean Sensei.
