About

The efactory and Missouri Small Business Development Center at MSU Mentorship Program gives startup founders and small business owners access to experienced owners and business leaders. Dan Cobb spent his 30-year career building healthcare information technology companies from startup through exit. As a co-founder of HealthMEDX, he retired as Chief Technology Officer after its sale to private equity. In the beginning, he designed the flagship product and oversaw its development and rollout. As the company grew, he at various times managed product development, research, technical support, customer implementation, sales, marketing and the data center.

Prior to HealthMEDX, he was an original employee and minority owner of Management Software, later purchased by McKesson. His focus at Management Software was primarily the design and development of its software offerings. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems at Missouri State University.

Currently he is on the board of 5 non-profit organizations. The Missouri Technology Company provides startup and seed funding to technology and bio-tech companies in the state and supports entrepreneurial services organizations such as the efactory and the Jordan Valley Innovation Center. He is also on the board of the SW MO Humane Society, the Mercy Foundation, the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks and the Drew Lewis Foundation.

Dan spends his professional time mentoring startup companies and owns equity in over a dozen local companies in the real estate, restaurant and technology industries.
