Accessing Capital in KC - How Entrepreneurs Get Money

Thursday, January 21 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am • Organized By SCORE - Kansas City
Online Event

About

Join Kelly Sievers, Managing Director of Women’s Capital Connection, as she walks us through where entrepreneurs get their money in Kansas City. Learn what types of businesses are launched in KC, and how they were funded.

You will learn to ask yourself these important questions:

  • How much money do I need?

  • What type of business do I have?

  • What type of capital is most appropriate?

You will learn how to prepare to raise debt (borrow money) or equity capital (give up a share of your business.)

Kelly Sievers, Managing Director of the Women’s Capital Connection, spent 18 years in the trenches of retail entrepreneurship.  She has purchased, grown and sold four different retail businesses, including Scandia Down on the Country Club Plaza. Kelly serves as the Managing Director of the Women’s Capital Connection, an angel investment group of more than 40 women who invest in women-led companies.

Kelly has a BS degree in Communications and Business from Iowa State University.  She was awarded the Kansas Women Business Advocate of the Year in 2007 and made the Kansas City Techweek 100 list in 2015 & 2016.

Please connect at least 5 minutes in advance to be sure you have a good connection.  The webinar begins promptly at 9:00 AM and concludes by 11:00 AM.
