How to Raise Capital Utilizing Equity Crowdfunding

Small business owners looking to raise capital to grow their business will benefit from this course. The goal in the first half of the course is to learn:

  • What is Equity Crowdfunding
  • What are the different types of Equity Crowdfunding
  • SEC Regulations, especially ‘Bad Actors’
  • Why Equity Crowdfunding may not be right for you
  • What investors will invest in
  • Where you will spend most of your time
  • Portal fees
  • Generally two types of companies that successfully raise funding
  • What the platforms/portals are looking for and why

In the second half of the course, small business owners will get a matrix with details about the four specific JOBS Act types. President Obama signed the JOBS Act into law in 2012. Title II allows unlimited raises from Accredited Investors. Title III & IV allows raising money from Accredited and Non-Accredited Investors. Title III allows raising up to $1M/year, Title IV allows raising up to $20M/year (Tier 1) or $50M/year (Tier 2).
