Regional businesses can take advantage of a day of professional development close to home on Friday, October 23. MU Extension – Dent County, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and Healthy Dent County are hosting a one-day business conference at Salem Community Center @ the Armory, designed to provide area business owners, managers and employees an opportunity to pick up some new skills and resources, and network with other area businesses to learn about what’s happening in our regional economy.
The conference will feature keynote addresses and breakout sessions designed to reach the range of businesses – from start-ups to those in transition, and everyone in between. “Local businesses have been requesting more training opportunities and we are pleased to be able to provide sessions that should help our businesses grow and thrive,” said Sarah Massengale, Community Development Specialist with MU Extension. The keynote sessions will be “Missouri Tourism: Impacts and Opportunities” and “Supporting Missouri’s Entrepreneurs.” Breakout sessions will feature business planning for emergencies, customer service, workplace wellness, social media marketing, supervision 101 and business succession planning.
