September 10, 2019: Fundraising for Non-Profits, Kansas City, Mo.

This SCORE – Kansas City workshop provides an overview of fundraising fundamentals to give participants an insight into which fundraising techniques should be part of their overall strategy. Designed for small non-profits, the workshop covers grant writing, special events and major giving. It explores the advantages and disadvantages of these techniques to help attendees begin choosing the methods best suited for their individual needs.

September 12, 2019: Starting a Small Business: The First Steps, Joplin, Mo.

Before you start a business, be certain to attend this seminar. Missouri Small Business Center at Missouri Southern State University is bringing new biz owners a step-by-step event. Participants will have an opportunity to assess their business idea, learn about the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements, learn about marketing strategies, and identify sources of financing. This workshop by Ozarks Small Business Incubator will teach you how to organize your thoughts and deliver your message in a confident and coherent presentation, in addition to using visual aids and public-speaking techniques.

September 14, 2019: MO Sports Jam, Columbia, Mo.

The MO Sports Jam by Columbia REDI is a nine-hour sprint to launch a new sports-related venture. The goal is to create random collisions of people from diverse skill sets and backgrounds who have a passion for sports and solving problems, so groups will come together to plan, experiment, and present on the spot.
