Inc. just released its hefty top 5000 fastest growing private companies in the United States and 72 Missouri companies made the cut. Six Missouri companies made it to the top 500. Way to crush it, MO.
Missouri named a Top Ten state for advanced manufacturing growth
According to the Brookings Institution, Missouri is the 6th top state in the country for job growth in the advanced manufacturing industry. Bonus fact: Missouri is leading the Midwest for the top state for manufacturing growth.
LaunchKC announces 20 finalists for $50K grants
LaunchKC, a Kansas City-based grants competition, just announced its 20 top finalists for ten $50,000 grants. More than 400 startups applied including five Missouri companies: Big Bang, Eyes on Freight, Fitness Technology, iShare Medical Records and Backstitch. Judges will announce the final ten winners during Techweek KC.
St. Joseph’s Academy opens student-run coffee shop, entrepreneurial program
St. Joseph’s Academy, a private college-preparatory high school for girls, is encouraging and teaching early entrepreneurship by opening up a coffee shop named Cup of Joe ran by the students. The Future Business Leaders of America club will foster further education on business and entrepreneurship.
Prosper Women Entrepreneurs invests in 6 women-led startups for new class
Prosper Women Entrepreneurs accelerator welcomed a new round of women-led startups. Each company receives a $50,000 investment in exchange for equity.
