MO Department of Agriculture Adds New USDA Grant for Crop Growers/Processors

The Missouri Department of Agriculture received a sub grant from a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant and have cost-share funds available to Missouri specialty crop growers/processors to assist with the costs of Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP) Certification. The department has also posted the “Farmers’ Market Promotion Matching Grant Program” located at http://agriculture.mo.gov/abd/financial/farmersmarket.php and http://agriculture.mo.gov/abd/fmkt/.
The program provides a matching grant up to $1,000 for reimbursement of expenses associated with a Missouri Farmers’ Markets promotional program. Applications are due March 1 for review with award announcements occurring in mid-March.
